ni373/ U.S. Puppy Paw belt plate

 A face only a mother could love!  This one has a lot of character lot of chocolate / brown patina with peppered green ground action. This buckle is in great shape with nice solid rim and face. The lead back is 99% complete with remnants of leather under the puppy paw's. The tongue is missing and no doubt the reason to be found by a relic hunter 140 years later. This was found at Brandy Station, VA.

ni372/ U.S. Breast Plate

Nice breast plate found at Spanish Fort and is in good sound condition. Has full undamaged rim and only minor ground action. It has full lead back and both iron attachment loops are rusted but very sturdy and present. It does have a dimple on face caused by the rust action on the iron on the loops but is stable and hardly noticeable.

This is a dropped Spencer bullet that has been put back into the cartridge, both found at Hoover's Gap in Beech Grove, TN. First made it's day view at this battle in June, 1863 by the Lightning Brigade of Wilders mounted infantry. "Good condition"

Young gentlemen sitting with his arm resting on old glory. Tin type has the military back ground. The lid to the case is missing, but is a nice clear image of a soldier a long way from home.

ni367/  Large Side knife or D- Guard blade

This mean lookin blade was found in Hoover's Gap outside of Beechgrove, Tn. The blade is 13 " long and tang measures 4 1/2 ", overall length is 171/2 " It is in good stable condition with no iron flaking. It has a light coat of clear coat to preserve the metal. Here's a Confederate relic you can afford and display proudly.

ni366/  M 1839 Harper's Ferry original Flint Lock Musket

Very hard to find and in great condition is this 1839 Harpers Ferry flint lock musket. Hammer and trigger mechanisms are very crisp and cocks as they should. This is in great untouched condition with nice attic look from butt plate to muzzle. You can see in the pictures that all stamping on the musket is very legible. The barrel has a nice clean bore and I was told by the ole timer that owned it said I could load this baby and bag a turkey. Although I don't recommend it.

ni365/ Confederate ( Breckenridge) Style belt plate

.This C. S. Breckenridge belt plate was dug a few weeks ago out of the 1st. Mississippi Cavalry camp in Lincoln County, TN. This plate has a nice chocolate patina and has no repairs to it. There is small damage and it is very small and can be brought back to it's original condition. For about the cost of a meal at O' Charley's restaurant, you can make this one as nice as a $3500.00 plate

Nice carved Minnie ball with precision accuracy carved into all four sides of this pyramid pointed bullet or some sort of art form. Soldier cut each side as if he was using a machine to make this bullet. This was dug in Richmond, VA.

ni363/  1840 P.S. Justice / Philadelphia

Here's on hard to find P.S. Justice saber in original condition. Blade has nice luster and never sharpened with just a couple of small nicks in the blade and very legible stamping on the blade. Brass guard and pommel has nice attic aged patina with original wrapping and wire on the grip and rack # 340 stamped on the basket. Also the blade and handle is good and tight with very little play at all. The scabbard is nice and smooth with no dents at all and fits the sword perfect. The cavalry soldier that carried this one didn't care if it rattled or not, he wanted everyone to know trouble was on it's way! Scabbard is marked S&K on the drag.

ni362/ Published Confederate Image in (RARE) Masonic gutta percha case

This 1/6 plate ambrotype image of a Confederate Militia soldier is wearing a gray kepi and wearing the U.S. buckle upside down as a lot of southern boys did early in the war changing the U.S. too S. N. (Southern Nations). He is holding his 1816 conversion musket proudly. The case is as rare as hens teeth and probably worth more than the image itself. This image is featured on pg. 134 in the STILL MORE Confederate Faces by D.A. Serrano and also is included in the sale. All is in mint condition and will no doubt be the center piece to your civil war collection and something to be proud of. A piece like this rarely comes up on the market!

ni361/ 1855 Rifleman Waist Belt rig

This is the Regulation 1855-1862 Rifleman belt rig with brass plate and belt loop bars. This is a French design copied from the 1847 chasseur a pied accoutrements with a frog for the saber bayonet of the Model 1855 rifle and which linked with the 1855 pattern knapsack. This rig has very pliable leather with very light crazing. The leather has one weak spot on the back side of rig that can be seen in pictures. The brass plate and slides are in excellent condition with nice attic patina. This will make one fine display with a nice saber bayonet!

Beautiful 1851 Sword Belt rig with nice pliable leather. Has maker mark on inside of leather. close to the belt adjuster. The plate has a beautiful mellow aged patina with nice solid applied silver wreath. This is one nice example at a very affordable price.

This soldier is in full uniform and is wearing belt rig w/ cap box, and cartridge box with the sling and breastplate. Also holding musket with fixed bayonet. Nice clear image!!

ni358/ U.S. (Puppy Paw) style belt buckle

Nice U.S. Puppy Paw belt buckle dug in Fredericksburg, VA. Has nice chocolate patina and highlighted with traces of green and dirt ground action. Good solid rim with just a slight scare across the U on the face. The back is nice and solid with only a small amount of lead loss near one of the paws. Digger left a skid mark in the lead but is just a shallow scrap. 

Ni357/ Confederate Soldier Tin Type Picture in Brooch

This brooch is in great condition with lots of age and has pin still attached on the back. The tin type pictures a handsome Confederate soldier proudly posing for his wife or girl friend he left waiting back at home. Although the image has a few cracks it is still a very clear image! The brooch measures 1 1/2 " tall and 1 1/4 " wide and has a glass face.

ni356/ < RARE DUG> Mann's Patent Waist Belt Plate (1864-1865)

This style waist belt plate was designed by William Mann of Detroit, Michigan. He was a Colonel in the 7th Michigan Cavalry. This plate was accompanied with several type of cavalry and infantry cartridge boxes. He received a patent on December 8, 1863. The initial batch of Mann's accoutrements was produced by Storms of New York City. Later, Emerson Gaylord filled an order for 12,000 Mann accoutrement sets. They obviously seen a lot of service because a number of these have been excavated, including this one found in south Alabama in near mint condition.

ni355/ Carved game piece made from solid base bullet

Ok, bet you a chaw of  tabacker you can't make two ringers. This is the neatest carved bullet I've come across and I've dug a few cool ones myself. No doubt a little game piece carved out of a solid base carbine bullet and a three ringer. All was found in the same hole by Gene Cooley a well known long time digger from Richmond, Va. area. This was dug at the Berkley Plantation that was the site of a huge U.S. camp.

Can't get any better than this one here. Found in Central Virginia and absolutely flawless is this federal carbine sling buckle. Nice green patina with a small trace of brown and nice straight center bar and the belt tongues  move freely. Nice original curve to the buckle like when it was first issued. If quality is a must then this is the one you were waiting for!!!

ni 353 U.S. Marked Springfield 69 Cal. Bayonet and Scabbard

Nice 69 cal. bayonet nearly mint condition with the U.S. stamped in blade. It has no pitting and the lock ring works like it did 140 years ago. The scabbard is nice and flexible with minimal crazing. The stitching is nice and sturdy. This will complete that 69 cal. Springfield you have there in your relic room at home.

Fresh out of the barn is this very seldom encountered Ambulance or wagon canteen ( I'm no expert by a long run, this is what I was told it was by a couple of colleges in the business). In good condition with nice aged appearance. This looks like it will hold about 5 gallons of liquid. Has nice swivel handles and sturdy legs to stand on. It measures 22 1/2 " long and 10 1/2 " wide. It has a lead bung hole that will screw in and out of the center. No collection will be as complete as the one that has this baby displayed in their relic room!

Nice rust free bulls-eye canteen with a nice original cork stopper and chain. The drinking spout is made of tin and has a letter F carved in the neck of the spout. It has one minor dent near the neck probably put there to have a better finger grip. It has one small soldered spot near the bottom sling band.

Nice and very hard to find Confederate Reunion badge from Lookout Mt. Chattanooga Tn. in 1934. This three piece badge is missing the red and white ribbon.  The back has maker Chattanooga Button & Badge Mfg. Co. Chattanooga Tenn. Nice dark aged brass with full red and blue enamel on the Confederate Flag.

This Artillery Valise saddle was mounted on the near side wheel horse. It is in good condition but does have leather crazing and an early repair to the seat leather. The brass has a nice deep aged patina. Also has the original brass U.S. saddle shield.

Confederate Leech & Rigdon spur found here in Southern Middle Tennessee. Nice deep chocolate patina and in excellent condition. Right side of neck is broke that held the rowel. Only other thing wrong with this spur is the C. S. and Stars are not on this spur and also is not in your collection YET!

Another great relic from the Gettysburg area. This dug 58 cal. Springfield bayonet is in good solid condition but missing the lock ring. It measures 21 inches overall length and the blade measures 18 1/2 inches.

Fresh out of the attic is this excellent condition imported 1860 light cavalry saber, this has not been cleaned and has no dents to the rich dark chocolate scabbard. The blade has no nicks and also untouched. It has a small portion of the original plating visible toward the tip of blade. Brass has nice aged patina with the original wire wrapping but most of the leather grip is missing. This nice sword will look good in your collection.

This is one fine example of the 1851 sword belt rigs. It is complete and would look really cool with your Ames Saber hanging off of this rig. Nice aged patina on the plate with applied silver wreath and very pliable leather with good tight stitching. Don't let this one get away! 

ni321/ Maker Marked Breast Plate

Picked this one up in Columbia, S.C. and was dug in Charleston. Absolutely top notch W. H. Smith shoulder strap (breast plate) no rim damage but does have a very small period nick, no lead loss and has a nice chocolate patina. The iron hooks are missing but other than that it is near perfect. The maker mark has a nice deep strike and can be seen without the help of glasses!

ni317/ Ames (Foot Officers) presentation sword scabbard part

Rare find, this seven inch brass section to an Ames scabbard is inscribed to a lieutenant in the Indiana or Illinois regiment of Wilder's division camped in Normandy, TN. Most of the inscription is legible but missing some of the important letters( the Lieutenant name.) Still a very nice piece of civil war history. Found by Brad Presley!

These three badges were found in Shelbyville, Tn. One on the left is an Nashville, TN Centennial Exposition (1897), the second one is a Annual Tournament picturing  a bicycle rider (probably a bike race). And the third one is an Centennial Celebration in Nashville, TN. picturing the Tennessee State Seal but is very worn and hard to make out.  These are a nice collection of post Civil War badges showing life moving on after Reconstruction years in the south!

Rare piece of History from the Chickamauga woods where some intense fighting took place bullets and grape shot littered the woods with most of them getting lodged in trees. Here's a nice solid piece of Heart Pine 28" long X 6" wide and about three inches deep with what appears to be a 58 or 69 cal. Minnie Ball. This is ready for display and can be cherished for years.
