us19/ U.S. Breast Plate
$165.00
Nice breast plate found at Spanish Fort and is
in good sound condition. Has full undamaged rim and only minor
ground action. It has full lead back and both iron attachment
loops are rusted but very sturdy and present. It does have a
dimple on face caused by the rust action on the iron on the
loops but is stable and hardly noticeable. |

Mann's Patent Waist Belt Plate (1864-1865)
$ 375.00
This style waist belt plate was designed by
William Mann of Detroit, Michigan. He was a Colonel in the 7th
Michigan Cavalry. This plate was accompanied with several type
of cavalry and infantry cartridge boxes. He received a patent on
December 8, 1863. The initial batch of Mann's accoutrements was
produced by Storms of New York City. Later, Emerson Gaylord
filled an order for 12,000 Mann accoutrement sets. They
obviously seen a lot of service because a number of these have
been excavated, including this one found in south Alabama in
near mint condition. |
